Building Project Update
June 2024
Greetings Urban Hope Family!
Natascha and I wanted to reach out and give a quick update on some of the ministry opportunities we have been sharing with our church family over the last few months.
Our Serve TeamOur serve trailers that go out into our community are remodeled and ready to bless our community! One of the trailers is filled with clothing for families in need. This trailer will start going out a couple of times a month.
We have already been able to help hundreds of families in need of clothing with this ministry.
The other trailer is ready and filled with tools and yard work equipment for tangible acts of construction and cleanup when the city of Flagstaff and the surrounding areas call for help. This trailer has been used several times to help with fire prevention, flood prevention, and cleaning up parks and sidewalks in our city.
We know both of these trailers will be used to bless, change lives, and introduce people to the love of Jesus this summer. Thank you to all who have given and helped in tangible ways to get these trailers, remodeled and ready.
Psalms 82:3-4 NIV“Defend the weak and the fatherless; uphold the cause of the poor and the oppressed. Rescue the weak and the needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked.”
The Dream CenterThe old Motel 66/ANewLiving has been officially transitioned over to Urban Hope Church and the Urban Hope Church board of directors. The Dream Center staff through Urban Hope Church has officially moved onto the property, and they are starting to slowly transition into an official Dream Center program. Right now we are hosting weekly Bible studies, inviting families to church, and having monthly community gatherings for the people who live on property. This will be a Dream Center focused on families in need. In August, we will have an official Dream Center ceremony on Sunday morning at UHC praying over the staff and the vision that God has given us.
Dream center vision statement:
Providing a community that fosters transformation to discover your purpose and salvation through Jesus. Find a need and fill it. find a hurt and heal it.
Church sanctuary remodel As of the week of June 10th, (as some of you know from our Dream Team meeting), we have a final breakdown of the cost to complete this project.
Overall constructions $140,000
Additional seating $8-10,000
Flooring $8-10,000
Sound and lighting $15,000
Outdoor playground $8,000
To date, we have officially raised about $60,000 and have had $50,000 pledged towards the project bringing our total to $110,000 raised with pledges.
We are so excited about how God has moved through the hearts and minds of this church family and we will continue to keep you updated on a monthly basis as the project continues.
God emphasized that the gifts were to be given willingly by people whose hearts prompted them to give (Exodus 25:2). He did not want anyone to be forced to contribute.
After Moses told the people what God had said, the Israelites started to give in abundance: ‘And the people continued to bring freewill offerings morning after morning’ (Exodus 36:3). Eventually, the builders had to ask Moses to tell the people to stop giving! They had too much! ‘And so the people were restrained from bringing more because what they already had was more than enough to do all the work’ (Exodus 36:6–7).
This is a beautiful illustration of joyful, abundant, generous giving to the Lord by his people. We know that God is going to provide everything we need as a church family. So we can continue to love and spread the good news of Jesus through our church as we come together in obedience as God Church.
Blessings to each of you and your families,
-Pastor Adam and Natascha Kling
